Flexcell® FX-5000 Tension System

A computer-regulated bioreactor that uses vacuum pressure to apply cyclic or static strain to cells cultured on flexible-bottomed culture plates.

Features:
  • Analyze biochemical changes in response to strain in cells from muscle, lung, heart, vascular vessels, skin, tendon, ligament, cartilage, and bone.
  • Uses vacuum pressure to deform a flexible-bottomed culture plate yielding up to 25% substrate elongation.
  • Applies a defined, controlled, static or cyclic deformation to cells growing in vitro.
  • Control of the vacuum pump with the FX-5000 software.
  • Compatible with Windows Vista.

Flexcell® FX-5000 Compression System

A computer-regulated bioreactor that uses positive air pressure to deform tissue samples or 3-D cell cultures in vitro, simulating biological compression conditions.

View compression baseplate set up

Features:
  • Uses positive pressure to compress samples between a piston and stationary platen on the BioPress culture plate yielding up to 14 lbs of force.
  • Program multiple frequency, amplitude, and wave changes in one regimen with defined, static or cyclic deformation of cells.
  • Valving mechanism regulates pressure to provide specified compression regimen.
  • Compatible with Windows Vista.

Flexcell® FX5K Tension or Compression FlexLink®

A remote tension or compression unit that works in conjunction with the FX-5000 Tension or Compression systems allowing the user to simultaneously run two different regimens on two different baseplates.

Flexcell® StageFlexer® (Microscopy)

A single-well embodiment of the BioFlex® culture plate designed to allow the user to observe signaling responses to strain in real time on a microscope stage.

Features:
  • Applies strain to cells in real time on your microscope stage.
  • Consists of a single 35 mm well with a matrix bonded silicone rubber membrane, similar to the membrane in the BioFlex® culture plates.
  • The membrane can be deformed using the Flexcell® FX-5000 or Flex Jr. Tension systems.
