Marketing Specialist
Elizabeth (Beth) is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a B.A. in Education. She is one of the marketing specialists at Flexcell®. You can meet her at our booth at ASCB, ORS, FASEB,
and other meetings. Beth is a native of North Carolina, enjoys many sports and is the proud mother of two sons.

Dr. Jie Qi
Senior Research Scientist
Dr. Qi received his Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology in 1998. He has worked for Flexcell® since 2001 following his post doctoral training.

David Grant
Chief Engineer
David is a graduate of the University of Dundee, Scotland with a BENG(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and an MSC in Electronic Circuit Design and Manufacture. His role at Flexcell® is that of chief engineer. David is a native of Scotland and enjoys reading, music and sports.

Shipping Manager
Robert (Bob) attended Minnesota State University-Mankato with a B.S. in Biology. His responsibilities at Flexcell® are shipping & receiving, production, and plant maintenance. Bob is a native of California enjoying cars, electronics, motorcycles, and nature studies.

YueXia Li
Production Manager
YueXia (Sally) is a graduate of Shanghai University in China with a degree in Ecology. Her role is manufacturing plates and planing weekly production. She has two sons attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Sally is currently learning to play the piano.

Dr. Michelle Wall
Administrative Staff Scientist
Dr. Wall recieved her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has worked for Flexcell® since 2007 following her postdoctoral training at North Carolina State University.

Dr. Jian Wang
Senior Staff Scientist
Dr. Wang joined Flexcell® in January 2007 and is working on developing microfabricated devices. He was trained in electrophysiology and laboratory animal medicine in college. He was a postdoctoral research fellow, an assistant professor and a consultant at UNC Chapel Hill before joining Flexcell®. Dr. Wang has been exploring applications of “lab-on-a-chip” in the biomedical field since 2001.

Dr. Ruwan Sumanasinghe
Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Sumanasinghe recieved his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering & Fiber and Polymer Science from North Carolina State University. He has been working for Flexcell® since 2007 researching various scaffolds and devices for tissue engineering applications.

Dr. Mari Tsuzaki
Senior Scientist and Advisor to Japanese Markets
Dr. Tsuzaki received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and D.D.S. at the Tokyo Medical and Dental University in Tokyo, Japan. She works with Flexcell®’s sales in Japan after many years of conducting research with Dr. Banes at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
